Quicksilver Resources Inc. operates in Canada through its Calgary-based subsidiary, Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc., formerly known as MGV Energy Inc. Quicksilver began to focus on the potential of Canadian coalbed methane in 1999 and continues to explore for and develop unconventional gas resources in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin of Alberta, Canada.
Through September 2007, the company has drilled more than 1,700 wells and operates 16 central compressor stations in Alberta, primarily associated with our Horseshoe Canyon development located between Calgary and Edmonton. At year-end 2006, the company had reserves of 308 billion cubic feet of natural gas equivalents and more than 140 employees associated with its Canadian operations.
