Quicksilver Resources Inc. operates in Canada through its Calgary-based subsidiary, Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. Quicksilver began to focus on the potential of Canadian coalbed methane in 1999 and continues to explore for and develop unconventional gas resources in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin of Alberta, Canada.
At year-end 2012, the company had reserves of approximately 267 billion cubic feet of natural gas equivalents (Bcfe) in Canada.
The company is developing the Horn River Basin of northeast British Columbia, where it has leased 130,000 net acres. The company has booked approximately 105 Bcfe related to this acreage. As of December 2012, the company had twelve wells connected to sales.
