Quicksilver Resources Inc. operates in Canada through its Calgary-based subsidiary, Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. Quicksilver began to focus on the potential of Canadian coalbed methane in 1999 and continues to explore for and develop unconventional gas resources in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin of Alberta, Canada.

At year-end 2009, the company had reserves of 253 billion cubic feet of natural gas equivalents and more than 140 employees associated with its Canadian operations.

In addition, the company is actively exploring in the Horn River Basin of northeast British Columbia, where it has leased 130,000 net acres.
