Community Relations - Canada
Mission Statement
To continually provide the fundamentals for constructive and positive relationships in our communities, through on-going dialogue and the sharing of information in a respectful, open, and cooperative manner.
Community Investment
Quicksilver is committed to supporting the communities in which we are active. Each calendar year, funds are allocated to each of the communities which are located in and/or around our active project areas. These funds are designed to support community organizations and focus specifically on health and wellness, education, environment, community services, and arts and culture based programs.

- Stewardship Award
In 2006, The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) awarded Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. the CAPP Steward of Excellence Award in Social Performance, for the Community Consultation Template for Horseshoe Canyon NGC/CBM Development Projects.
In 2010, Quicksilver, as part of the The Horn River Basin Producers Group, was again awarded the Excellence Award in Social Performance.
The Horn River Basin Producers Group has been created as a joint initiative to responsibly develop a shale gas play in British Columbia. The group involves 11 companies that collaborate to facilitate open communication in the region by collectively understanding stakeholder and First Nation concerns, minimizing environmental impacts, and maximizing benefits to the region. Through education and awareness, the group has helped to support economic development and employment in the area. Consultation on proposed operations will ensure development is done in a responsible manner. Read more

2007 Edition* QRCI is committed to engagement through constructive dialogue and sharing of information in a cooperative manner. In an effort to provide informed and transparent communication we have developed these community newsletters describing certain activities in our operating areas. Community newsletters are typically issued in areas where Quicksilver operations are proposed to begin, or significantly increase. These occasional publications are another way for Quicksilver to keep its community stakeholders informed and engaged. Although these newsletters may describe our plans at the time the letters are issued, the development plans for each of the areas may change over time as additional information becomes available. In addition, while Quicksilver is committed to keeping our stakeholders informed regarding activities in their areas, and will continue to work hard to make sure stakeholders are consulted and notified regarding our activities should any changes occur, there may be occasions where we will not provide updated information. Accordingly, these newsletters speak only as of the date of publication, and at any time after that date, the information in these newsletters may not be current, complete or correct.
